Success is Intentional

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

We have reached the busiest stretch of the term. Extra murals are in full swing, exams are on the horizon, and every day counts. I want to take a moment to speak plainly about what we need from each of you to finish this term well.

Get Involved 鈥� On the Field and in the Stands

We are in the middle of a very busy term for extra murals 鈥� from sports matches to cultural rehearsals, debates to service projects. I encourage every student to participate in at least one activity, and if you can鈥檛 play, then support. Cheer for your peers. Stay after school to watch a game. Show up for the major production. A school that supports each other builds character that no exam can measure.

Mid-Year Exams 鈥� Start Now

The mid-year exams begin soon. Let me be clear:聽active preparation starts today, not the night before.

• Seniors:聽You are preparing for matric. These exams are a dress rehearsal. Treat them that way.
• 闯耻苍颈辞谤蝉:听You need to make subject choices soon. Your exam results will tell you where your strengths really lie 鈥� pay attention.

Past papers, study groups, revision timetables 鈥� use every tool. Your future self will thank you.

Late Coming 鈥� A Parent鈥檚 Responsibility

We continue to see too many students arriving after the bell. Late coming disrupts learning, creates a poor routine, and puts your child behind before the day has even started. Parents, I need you to actively address this. Ensure your child leaves home with enough time to arrive before the first bell. Punctuality is a discipline of respect 鈥� for teachers, for peers, and for one鈥檚 own education.

Poor Attendance 鈥� Every Lesson Counts

Every lesson missed is work that is difficult to catch up. There is no 鈥渕agic folder鈥� of missed notes that replaces being in the room, hearing the explanation, asking the question, and writing the example. If your child is absent without a valid reason, they are not just missing a period 鈥� they are falling behind in a way that compounds daily.

The Last Week of Term 鈥� This Is Not a Wind-Down

The final week of term is not a 鈥渞elaxation week.鈥� We use that week to:

• Go through exam papers聽鈥� a very valuable exercise that shows you exactly where you lost marks and how to improve.
• Teach new work for next term聽鈥� content that will be assumed knowledge when you return.

Attendance in that week is absolutely critical. Missing it means starting next term already two steps behind.

To Our Matrics

You have very few teaching days left. Count them. Every day matters. Every lesson. Every revision session. Every practice paper. The finish line is closer than it feels. Don鈥檛 coast. Don鈥檛 check out early. Stay hungry.

Final Thought

Success is not an accident. It is intentional. It is the sum of small choices made daily: showing up on time, staying for practice, opening a textbook before dinner, asking for help, and refusing to make excuses.

Let鈥檚 finish this term with purpose.
