Dear Parents, Students, and Staff

As we move briskly towards the end of the second term, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the collective energy, focus, and community spirit that continues to make our school exceptional.

Mid-Year Examinations Underway

Our mid-year examinations are currently in full swing across all grades. I have been impressed by the dedication and seriousness with which most learners are approaching these assessments. These exams are not merely a summative exercise but a valuable diagnostic tool 鈥� helping students, teachers, and parents identify areas of strength and those requiring further attention before the end of the year.

To our聽Grade 12 students, I address a special word of encouragement. The mid-year exams are a critical milestone, but they are not the final destination. Your preliminary examinations are fast approaching, followed by the final Matric examinations. The preparation you invest now 鈥� consistent revision, seeking help where needed, managing your time wisely 鈥� will pay dividends in the months ahead. Do not relent. Every hour of study between now and November brings you closer to the results you are capable of achieving.

A Memorable Rivals Unite Derby Day

On Friday afternoon and evening, 22 May 2026, our school hosted the聽Rivals Unite Derby Day聽against Bryanston High School. What a spectacular occasion it was!

Beyond the fierce but friendly competition on the fields and courts, the true winner was the聽SA Guide Dog Association, the beneficiary of this wonderful initiative. I am delighted to report that, through the generosity of all who attended, we raised a meaningful sum to support the vital work of training guide dogs for needy South Africans.

I extend my sincere thanks to our opponents from Bryanston High School for their sportsmanship, camaraderie, and willingness to unite with us for such a worthy cause. Rivalry on the day was left on the field; friendship and purpose carried the evening.

To our students 鈥� thank you! You turned out in great numbers, your spirit was infectious, and you made us proud. The noise, the colour, and the passion on display reminded me why I am so proud to be your Principal.

A Standing Ovation for “The Addams Family” Major Production

I must take a moment to celebrate what can only be described as a聽triumph. Our Major Production of聽The Addams Family聽has once again proven why this school is held in such high regard for the performing arts.

To every student involved 鈥� whether on stage acting, singing, and dancing with extraordinary energy and heart, or in the band bringing the score to life with precision and passion 鈥� you have outdone yourselves. To the technical teams managing sound and lighting, the backstage crew working tirelessly in the shadows, the costume and makeup artists who transformed our cast into Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, and the entire unforgettable family, and to the production staff who rehearsed, guided, and inspired 鈥� you are all to be commended.

You have once again surpassed the high standards expected at this school. The production did not just entertain; it moved audiences, drew standing ovations, and reminded everyone who walked through the hall doors why we proudly embrace our nickname:聽“Legends”. You have lived up to that name in every way.

Celebrating All Term 2 Activities

Beyond the stage and the sports field, I wish to acknowledge聽every student and staff member who has participated in Term 2 activities聽鈥� be it sport, culture, or service. From the first rugby tackle and hockey goal to the last choir note and community outreach project, you have represented our school with pride, dedication, and integrity. Your commitment enriches our school culture and builds the kind of character that examination results alone cannot measure. Thank you for making Term 2 one to remember.

Appreciation for Staff and Parents

None of this succeeds without the dedication of our staff. To every educator who organised teams, supervised events, is marking examination papers late into the evening, coached productions, and still arrive the next morning with enthusiasm 鈥� your work is deeply appreciated.

To our parent body, thank you for your continued support. Whether it is ensuring your child is well-rested for exams, supporting at school events, sewing costumes, or simply reinforcing the values we teach, you are indispensable partners in education.

Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of the term, let us keep our eyes on the horizon. For Grade 12s, the prelim exams will be here before you know it. Use the upcoming holiday break wisely 鈥� rest, but also revise. For all other grades, let the results of these mid-year exams guide your efforts for the remainder of the year.

Together, we continue to build a school that excels academically, shines on stage, competes with heart, and cares deeply for our broader community.
